In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at dahlias, a heatwave, more serendipity and UV filters.

  • It's Dahlia Daze at Harold Davis's place. "Each dalia is different, a unique world unto itself," he writes. Spectacularly so. We love them too.
