In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at dahlias, a heatwave, more serendipity and UV filters.
- It's Dahlia Daze at Harold Davis's place. "Each dalia is different, a unique world unto itself," he writes. Spectacularly so. We love them too.
- In A More Real Heat Wave Photo, Michael Shaw and Cara Finnegan examine Brandon Bell's image of the Johnson family coping with a heatwave in the shade outside their Houston home.
- Harvey Stearn has posted the third and final part of his series Serendipity: God's Gift to Photographers with 16 recent images.
- In The Best Filter to Protect Your Camera Lens, Viktor Elizarov takes a deep dive into UV filters. "In the long run, it does not matter whether or not you choose to use UV filters or not; what matters is the quality of the filter you choose," he writes.
