Lensbaby has announced two new mount adapters to fit dSLR optics to mirrorless cameras. The new adapters fit Canon EF lenses on Canon R bodies and Nikon F lenses on Nikon Z bodies.

The low-cost adapters provide an alternative to the more sophisticated equivalents from Canon and Nikon.
HIGHLIGHTS
The company didn't release any specifications for either adapter but from the product photos they appear to be strictly mechanical mounts that do not transmit electronic information from the lenses to the camera.
Exif data would be missing information like the aperture setting and shooting would be restricted to Aperture Priority or Manual modes in which the camera does not have control of the aperture.
Autofocusing would also be disabled, requiring either a lens that can be focused manually or an automatic focusing lens fixed at infinity.
COMPARISONS
Canon's EF-to-R adapter, which does transmit electronic data between lens and camera, is $199.00.
Nikon's F-to-Z FTZ adapter, which does transmit electronic data between lens and camera, is $246.95.
The mechanical Lensbaby adapter, though, is $49.95.
Still, a Yellbin EF-toR adapter with image stabilization, autofocus and aperture control is $53.99. And a Meike with autofocus and aperture control is $47.99.
On the Nikon side, a Fotasy adapter without electrical contacts is $16.29, leading the low-cost mechanical solutions.
PRICE, AVAILABILITY
Both adapters are available now directly from Lensbaby for $49.95.
