We're not complaining. We love the rain falling softly here for this month. It's been so long it seems like manna from heaven. But it does mean we didn't get a glimpse of the blood moon Tuesday morning.

Wet Street. Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm II R kit lens at 15mm (30mm equivalent), f8, 1/640 second and ISO 200. Processed twice in Adobe Camera Raw.

Still, one does what one can. And photographing the rain is what we can do.

We liked the curve of the street and the wet fall leaves on the sidewalk, reflected by the shiny side of the car parked there.

And that big dark tree in the middle of the shot seemed to be holding up the sky.

But it was the shine on the streets that got to us. We seem to prefer shooting into the light, for some reason. This particular morning light promised better things ahead.

We just had to get there. And we did. But that's a story for another time.
