10 November 2022

ACDSee has released Photo Studio Mac 9 featuring faced detection and facial recognition along with 50 new Develop presets, among a list of smaller tweaks.

HIGHLIGHTS

Features new to Photo Studio Mac 9 include:

  • Face Detection & Facial Recognition: The Face Detection & Facial Recognition tool finds the humans in your photographs so you can name them and then search by name. ACDSee will immediately learn which names to put to which faces and suggest possible matches.
  • Import Face Data: Import face data from Lightroom and Picasa. Facial Recognition then finds any matching faces in your ACDSee database.
  • Filter Keyword & Category Lists: Narrow down long keyword and category lists with "Starts With" or "Contain All." You also have the option to expand or collapse all keyword and category lists in Manage mode.

Improvements include:

  • Improved Metadata Management: Copy and paste metadata from one file to many. Now you can also remove EXIF, IPTC and ACDSee metadata from your images with the click of a button in Manage mode.
  • Improved Develop Mode Interface: Access Develop Presets, edit History, image Snapshots and an Info Palette in Develop mode from the new right-hand side pane.
  • Improved View Mode: Use View Mode to display images in full resolution, one at a time. You can view image properties, display areas of an image at varying magnifications or rotate images. New to View mode is the "Show Original" button, the ability to preview image Snapshots you took in Develop mode and a handy Info Palette added to the Filmstrip pane.
  • Improved HEIC Support: In addition to viewing HEIC files, you can now save files in the HEIC file format for more compression and better image quality than JPEG. ACDSee also now writes all metadata (EXIF, IPTC, ACDSee) directly to HEIC files rather than using an XMP sidecar file.
  • Improved Video Thumbnails: Get a better glimpse of your video with 4-frame preview thumbnails.
  • More Slideshow Transitions: New transitions include Water Drop, Crosswarp or Dreamy.

PRICE, AVAILABILITY

Photo Studio Mac 9 is available now directly from ACDSee for an introductory price of $89.95, a 10 percent savings. The introductory offer ends Nov 23.
