This was the picture out our window Christmas Eve just after we'd posted our Tracking Santa story. And we thought we were done for the night.

The Heavens. Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm II R kit lens at 42mm (84mm equivalent), f11, 1/100 second and ISO 500.

The drama kept getting better so we stayed at the window shooting away before dinner. But this is our favorite shot with the bright spot beginning to swirl and the darker clouds above rolling into a wind-blown ceiling colored by the changing light below them.

Yet there were still patches of blue at the edges where the clouds did not completely cover the heavens. And it's there, we suppose, one has to look for peace in this turbulent world.

Even over an ocean named Pacific.
