In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at snake-handling, work, filming strangers in public, McCartney photos and conversation.

  • Robert LeBlanc photographed The Last Snake-Handling Church in West Virginia in black and white. The images in Gloryland are on exhibit at Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles until Jan. 28.
  • Kirk Tuck's Thoughts About Work illustrate the difference between a good client and the kind to avoid.
  • Jason Okundaye suggests It's Time to Stop Filming Strangers in Public for Social Media Thrills. "The use of mobile recording devices has empowered us in many ways," he notes. "Beefing up privacy laws to prevent the filming of strangers in public would be undesirable, not to mention unworkable. What can change is social and cultural -- reacting with grace to each other's embarrassments and minding your own business more."
  • The Associated Press reports McCartney Photos From Beatlemania Era will go on exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery in London from June 28 to Oct.1. Titled Eyes of the Storm, the images from 1963 and 1964 were recently rediscovered by McCartney who thought he had lost them.
  • In On 'Conversation', Andrew Molitor reflects on an essay by Simon King that examines the claim of some photographs that they bring to light certain issues.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
