In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Florida seniors, Carnaval de la Plaine, Earth and DPReview.
- Mee-Lai Stone features the images of Naomi Harris who was just 26 when she moved into a Florida hotel for senior citizens with her 35mm camera and became their Surrogate Granddaughter. She found the South Miami Beach community defined by friendship, frugality and survival.
- Daniele Cole presents his photos from Marseille's unofficial yet infamous Carnaval de la Plaine "right on the precipice of a week filled with violent protests and discontent over French President Emmanuel Macron's move to force through an unpopular bill raising the retirement age from 62 to 64." Talk about fireworks.
