As we walked around the neighborhood in the morning (for a change), it occurred to us that it's quite a luxury to be free at 10 a.m.

After they ship you off to school your mornings are spoken for until you retire. If you're lucky with your health in old age you can finally enjoy the mornings again.

What a bleak fate, we thought as we came face to face with a glorious white Rhododendron bloom. We just had to take the camera out of its case and line up the shot. It was the same impulse, we suppose, that drives some people to pick them.

Photographers, fortunately, are far more civilized.

That wasn't the only thing that caught our eye as we circumnavigated Edgehill Mountain. We've already shown you the new construction on a lot we've been watching for a while now.

But how had we walked by that plaque for years without ever noticing the Italian proverb inscribed in it?

We haven't, we determined. It must be a new installation. The painter's tape suggests as much.

And an inspiring one for someone trying to resume his daily constitutional despite a changed schedule.
