The Trek to Ventura

Ventura is just down the coast from Santa Barbara. We know a young couple there who have just welcomed their second daughter. One of these days we hope to make the trek, even though they do visit when they're in the Bay area.
Meanwhile, the trek we are making to Ventura is to macOS 13 running on an M2 (whose hard drive, you may be amused to know, we christened Sonoma just a couple of weeks before Apple released the beta of macOS 14 Sonoma).
Rather than a prose narration of our adventure, we thought it might be more helpful to read it in outline form, a process made rather simple for us by Notenik, Herb Bowie's free and quite versatile notemaking application that uses nothing more than text files.
Before we recede from the stage, though, we'd like to say that while our software installation was particularly trying this time as we updated everything to the latest releases, we are just over the moon with the results.
We're finally running a state-of-the-art system, after all.
