In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at LensCulture Critics' Choice Awards, Kahran and Regis Bethencourt, Justin Tedford, intentional camera movement, and the Bebop/Madavor Media story.

  • LensCulture has announced the 48 winners of its Critics' Choice Awards.
  • Keep It Wheel: Carhenge Returns to Glastonbury features photos by David Leven of Joe Rush's re-creation of Stonehenge using auto bodies.
  • Kate Mothes presents the portraits of Black Children by Atlanta-based photographers Kahran and Regis Bethencourt. Their images tap into African heritage and fairytales, casting their models "in sequins, ruffles and shells that are often paired with elaborate garments made of vibrant Dutch wax fabric."
  • In A Longhaul Adventure, Justin Tedford photographs his way through Nebraska and the Dakotas. "I am not your ordinary photographer; mountains don't excite me much, nor do the beaches of the coasts," he writes. "Yet, I find myself in awe of the rural landscapes of the Midwest."
  • Dahlia Ambrose explains How to Use Intentional Camera Movement for Creative Photography. "Experimenting by slightly reducing the shutter speed than normal and then moving your camera when the shutter is open can produce interesting effects in photographs," she begins.
  • In Four Months of Chaos: The Bewildering Story of BeBop and Madavor Media, Jaron Schneider chronicles what happened to Outdoor Photographer and Imaging Resource recently. Dan Havlik, who served as editor at Outdoor Photographer called it a "pretty good summation."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
