In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Tristram Kenton, climate change, 10 years of Harold Davis, Robin Wong and 21 famous photographers.
- On the Scene features Guardian theater photographer Tristram Kenton's best shots of the stage this year.
- The Associated Press presents images of The World Altered by Climate Change. "The toll of disasters propelled by climate change in 2023 can be tallied with numbers -- thousands of people dead, millions of others who lost jobs, homes and hope and tens of billions of dollars sheared off economies. But numbers can't reflect the way climate change is experienced -- the intensity, the insecurity and the inequality that people on Earth are living. Associated Press photographers around the world captured moments in 2023 that collectively tell that story, one of a changing world."
- Harold Davis has been Looking Backwards over 11 years of compiling his Best Of series, compiling a Best of the Decade album of seven images a year. "For me, the thrill is always in creation, not retrospection," he writes. "Looking backwards is a way to look forward."
- In Why One Photographer Prefers Micro Four Thirds, Alex Cooks presents Robin Wong's 14:43 video on the virtues of the small format:
- Viktor Elizarov presents 21 World Famous Photographers and Their Photos to inspire you into a new year.
