It happens every year. We take down the holiday decorations, boxing them up carefully, and wrestle with the other storage under the stairs to put them away until next year. A day or two later, relaxing on the couch, we spy one that escaped the sweep.
It's always a different one. Because, you know, we spend the whole year looking at the most recent holiday escapee so we don't forget to remove it when we do finally get a second chance.
This year is was a snowman. Bearing gifts. He was right under the TV. You'd think we couldn't miss him.
But we don't watch TV when we're taking down the tree, putting the cards away and taking the stockings off the fireplace mantle. We only indulge after we've finished the job.
And so we sat down with a cup of coffee, turned on the TV to catch one sporting event or another and there, staring us right in the face, was the snowman.
We had to laugh.
So we thought we'd feature him in today's slide show using the Joby Beamo Creator Kit we have not reviewed yet. The big key light is white and the small background LED was set to blue.
Unlike our other tests with the kit, we shot this one with the iPhone 15 Pro Max using the 5x zoom. The iPhone exposures were, just for the record, f1.8 at 1/40 second and ISO 250.
It was kind of fun, actually. So we ended the show with a door hanger we'd also missed.
Both of which are now safely tucked away until December.
