As a card carrying member of the Anti Text Completion and Smartphone Keyboard Society, we have come to appreciate the simplicity of a simple QR code to get where we are going.
So we decided to make one for Photo Corners linking to the home page. Which is also (somewhat ironically) where we've put it.
Why? you ask.
Our bright idea is that it will simplify sharing Photo Corners.
For example, suppose you are at a subscriber's house for dinner and they start talking about something they read on Photo Corners that day but, they say, you really have to see it not just hear about it.
So they bring up Photo Corners on their smartphone, turning it sideways to see the whole site not just the phone version. But instead of handing you their phone to read the story, they display the QR code so you can go there on your own phone.
Without text completion or using that thumbs-only keyboard.
So next time you want to show someone standing next to you something you saw here, just point out the QR code on the homepage to them.
As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
