In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Coachella, Justine Kurland, Karabo Mooki and a damaged SD card.
- In Scenes From Coachella, Alan Taylor presents 30 photos from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, including performances by Doja Cat, Jon Batiste, Vampire Weekend, Sabrina Carpenter, Lil Yachty, Gwen Stefani, Peso Pluma, Atarashii Gakko, the Aquabats, and many more.
- Justine Kurland raised her child on the road documenting their experience in This Train, a new photobook that departs from the traditional family photo album.
- Heidi Volpe interviews Karabo Mooki about the Black Women's Skateboarding Project. "I've been in a photographic dialogue most of my life and the focus of my photography has developed from documenting counterculture to placing a more acute interest in political and cultural themes," Mooki says.
- A Reddit poster posted a photo of their SD Card's Broken Plastic and wonder if it can be fixed. They were persuaded to buy a new one. OTOH, if you can insert and remove the card without fixing it, you might still be able to use it without endangering the host equipment. You could try that on an inexpensive reader (a few times).
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look five years back. And please support our efforts...
