In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the week in pictures, the Burj Khalifa, Kamzy Nuel, Ansel stamps replicas and search text in photos.
- The Associated Press has published its Week in Pictures: Global curated by AP photo editor Anita Baca in Mexico City.
- Joe McNally remembers Climbing the World's Tallest Building, the Burj Khalifa, 10 years ago. He shares Drew Gurian's video of the shoot:
- Grace Holliday presents Kamzy Nuel's Best Phone Picture, a portrait of a model in the vibrant colors of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He made the exposure with his Redmi Note 9s but spent some time in post production tweaking the color.
- Mike Johnston points out that the images used in those Ansel Stamps coming May 15 from the USPS are available from the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park as Modern Replicas at reasonable prices. Although, as he points out, its more economical to buy a sheet of the stamps and frame it.
- In iPhone Photos Found the Needle in the Haystack, a poster couldn't find peppermint tea on the shelf, took a photo with his iPhone and searched for the tea in Photos. Bingo. In iOS and iPadOS, launch Photos and use the search feature (or access the overall search feature by swiping down) to find text matches in photos.
