In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Magdalena Wosinska, Billy Childress, Lance Yamamoto, a People Distractions tool and Ivan McClellan.

  • Outlaw Attitude presents a selection of Magdalena Wosinska's photographs from the 1990s of bands, skateboarders and whoever else crossed her path as she chased images of "blissful free spirits."
  • Susanne Sease features Pandemic Preaching, the personal project of Billy Childress. "For his congregation, Pastor Rusty Reed came up with the innovative solution of a Drive-In Church service," he says. "While in the parking lot listening on an AM radio station, parishioner's cars would transform into havens where all could tune in to the pastor's comforting words." He shot in black and white to "deepen the importance of the narrative."
  • Lance Yamamoto takes you to lunch at Greens, the waterfront Fort Mason restaurant with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge that "has been a pillar of the city's plant-based dining scene since 1979," as Madeline Wells writes.
  • Georgia Coggan previews Photoshop's Upcoming People Distractions Tool which "can remove a sea of people from the foreground of a photo."
  • NPR takes a look at Ivan McClellan's new photo book of Black Cowboys (which we mentioned in March). Eight Seconds: Black Rodeo Culture will be released April 30 by Damiani Books.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
