In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Midwest tornadoes, Jelly Febrian, Harold Davis, the Content Authenticity Initiative and USB file transfers.

  • In Tornadoes Collapse Buildings and Level Homes in Nebraska and Iowa, the Associated Press documents the damage.
  • Jelly Febrian's best phone picture is Break the Limit, which he shot on his Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Febrain documents daily life at Sunda Kelapa harbor in North Jakarta, Indonesia, including the schoolchildren who turn it into their playground. This shot shows seven of them jumping off a boat into the water after asking permission from the boat owner, Grace Holliday explains.
  • "Take some nicely colored old buildings, add a canal or two and some reflections and voila, you have a Little Venice," Harold Davis writes. Even if it's not in Italy.
  • You, too, can join the Content Authenticity Initiative member community. There are both individual and company/organization memberships.
  • A Reddit poster asks what to use for faster USB File Transfers. We use card readers to our laptop and immediately back the session up to external and network drives. It only takes a few minutes with Ingestor.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
