In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at sports, kiosks, poppies, hard cases and ways to say no.
- The Associated Press showcases its Sports Week in Pictures curated by AP photo editor Anita Baca.
- Kate Mothes reviews Kiosk, a new book of over 150 images of the tiny urban shops of Eastern Europe photographed by David Navarro and Martyna Sobecka. "While some remain active or have undergone refurbishment, others have been abandoned or have slowly faded from the urban landscape," the pair says.
- Harold Davis's images of a Garden Poppy Pod and White Poppy are, you may be surprised, not in color. He shot them on his Leica M11 Monochrom with the Novoflex Nikon F-Lens to Leica M mount adapter and his Lensbaby Velvet 85.
- Light Stalking looked for the Best Camera Hard Cases and found 11 of them in seven categories. The best overall is the Pelican Air 1525 Case with TrekPak padded dividers.
- A Reddit poster asks, What Is Your Go-To Response When Asked to Work for Free? Turns out there is more than one way to say no.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
