The Association of Photographers has announced the finalists for its Emerging Talent Awards, all of whom have been practicing the craft for less than three years.

Becky. Finalist Raymond Davies's portrait of Becky, an artist and surfer from Edinburgh. 'Becky is wearing her printing apron and holding her surf board to bring together these two important aspects of her life,' he notes.

"The AOP's guiding principle behind our open entry for 'Emerging Talent' is to provide an opportunity for a new wave of photographers and image-makers, of any age or background whose work truly shines and resonates, to be discovered above and beyond the crowded marketplace," said Isabelle Doran, CEO of the Association of Photographers.

Among the finalists are Panos Chatzistefanou, Raymond Davies, Lauren Gilholm, Max Kessell, Ana Piero Munoz, Cody Murray, Ruth Samuel and Franzis Sanchez.

The winners will be announced live at the AOP's Photography Awards Showcase event in September, along with the main awards, with gold and silver winners and selected finalists having their work exhibited and featured in the collectable 39th AOP Awards Book.

Prizes include a tailored AOP Associate Membership Package designed with the recipient's career path in mind, along with advice on advancing their current professional photography practice which includes a 1:1 Folio Reviews with industry representatives; and a Business Practice Review worth £500.

Katy Niker, Photographic Agent and Producer and judge of the 2024 Emerging Talent Awards said of the experience, "The quality and diversity of imagery entered into the Emerging Talent Award this year is represented by the large number of entries that we chose for our shortlist. It was a joy to be on the judging panel!"
