In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Paralympics, no news, doldrums, gear used at the Olympics and the Fujifilm GFX 100S II.
- Reuters features Highlights From Day Two of the Paralympics.
- Kirk Tuck finds it Unusually Quiet on the Photograph Fora and Blogs. "The paucity of readers and the paucity of readable material may just be capitalism compensating for the transition from traditional photography to something else," he writes.
- In Doldrum Time, Thom Hogan seems to agree, pointing out "it's been a bit slow this summer gear wise."
- Louis Royer reports on the gear used Behind the Scenes at Canon, Nikon and Sony Spaces to Assist Professional Sports Photographers during the Paris Olympics. Long, bright zooms matched to mirrorless cameras were the ticket.
- Jim Kason is testing a Fujifilm GFX 100S II. He finds no significant advantage to 16-bit captures over 14-bit ones.
More to come! Although, it seems we've exceeded our bandwidth earlier today for the month (which ends later today). Bots, no doubt. Sorry for the brief interruption in service. If you can access the site, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
