In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at August, the Paris Paralympics, summer, where Lightroom saves edits, Peak Design's Outtdoor Line, WhiteWall Changeable Magnetic Photo Frames and the Fujifilm GFX 100S II.
- Reuters showcases its Pictures of the Month: August.
- The Guardian showcases Day Seven of the Paris Paralympics with photos from the fencing, long jump, boccia and other athletic competitions.
- Mike Johnston celebrates The Last Day of Summer in upstate New York with an impressive image of sunflowers.
- Julieanne Kost continues her Lightroom Classic series with Saving Changes to Photos, which can happen in two place: the catalog or the image file (or sidecare file):
- Peak Design has launched a Kickstarter project for The Outdoor Line, "a system of lightweight backpacks, slings and packing tools that can handle anything you throw at (or in) them." You can save 20 percent on the shipping product by supporting the project now.
- Nilofer Khan tries the new WhiteWall Changeable Magnetic Photo Frames. You've seen them on eyeglasses, now they're on picture frames.
- In Fujifilm GFX 100S II Summary, Jim Kasson wraps up his tests of the medium format camera. "My advice is, if you want to save some money, don't care having to use SD cards, don't need the tilt adapter for the finder, don't care about the slightly higher resolution EVF, go for the S version of the camera," he writes. "I'm going to stick with my GFX 100 II."
