In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at a Paralympics roundup, light modifiers, creativity and Chris Gampat's surgery.

  • John Windmill and Steven Bloor curate images from day nine of the Paris Paralympics. Sports covered include table tennis, the high jump and cycling, among others. Reuters features its own Day Nine images. And the Associated Press adds its highlights from Week Two as well.
  • In Grids, Flags, Snoots & Fresnels (Oh My), Zach Sutton discusses light modifiers," he writes.
  • In Creativity: Fuel for Living Webcast, Joe McNally previews a Sept. 17 podcast on imagination. "I grew up photographically in the school of not only if I can see it, I can photograph it, but in the school of, if I can dream it, I can make a picture of it," he writes.
  • In A Note From the Founder, Chris Gampat of the Phoblographer announced he'll be undergoing corneal crosslinking surgery to address his keratoconus, which has rendered him legally blind for over 10 years. We wish him well.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
