In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Israeli survivors, Abbey Road Music Photography Awards, Andrei Savin, Luke Dray, Ng Han Guan and Terry White.
- Leo Correa and Melanie Lidman report Israeli Survivors Reflect on the Lingering Toll of Oct. 7.
- Matt Fidler features the winning images of the Abbey Road Music Photography Awards with notes by the photographers who captured them.
- In Andrei Savin Reveals the Concealed in 'Masters of Hiding', Jackie Andres profiles the Philippine photographer's search for distinctive creatures and immersive habitats.
- Luke Dray photographs How One Hospital Is Faring as Sudan's Health Care System Is Devastated by War.
- In An AP Photographer Focuses His Camera on People With Their Eyes on the Ball at a Tennis Match, Ng Han Guan describes capturing the ball passing in front of three match workers intent on catching the action. "This was shot on the 400mm f2.8 lens, switching focus from Monfils, the player, to the background when I saw the ball kid’s head appear between the curtains," he writes. "I guess the image works as it captures a moment when a ball kid was overcome by his curiosity to watch but only daring to allow his head to peep through the heavy curtain."
- Terry White confesses, I Got a New iPhone, Headphones and Watch. But not the iPhone 16 Pro Max or the new Series 10 watch.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
