It's been a rough year around here and it hasn't gotten easier. The details don't matter. But a couple of days ago as we were filing a Medicare appeal for Joyce, who remains both hospitalized and discharged, and waiting for a tow truck (which never arrived), we saw this tire in the shade. And it spoke to us.
We just stood there looking at it, too tired to take the lens cap off to take a shot. But finally we succumbed. We're glad we did.
There's still usable tread on the tire and it's sufficiently inflated and mounted on a wheel so it seems to be ready for service. But the light falling on it suggests there isn't much time left in the day.
It isn't going anywhere now.
It seems, instead, at rest. Just looking at the picture now gives us a peaceful feeling. It puts our mind at rest. No rolling around backwards and forwards. No heating up on the asphalt. No losing pressure just sitting in a garage.
Rest for the tire. A break for the tired.
