In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Reuters, space shots, Gregory Halpern, Frank Ockenfels 3 and ACDSee for Mac 11.

  • Reuters presents 22 Pictures of the Day.
  • Charlotte Jansen writes about The Space Shots That Changed Humanity's View of Itself, starting with the supermarket Contax camera and a roll of 35mm film John Glenn picked up on his way to board the Friendship 7. The photos are on show at Paris Photo.
  • In Snowstorms, Steel and a Celebrity Deer, Mee-Lai Stone presents images of Buffalo, N.Y., from Gregory Halpern's new solo exhibition at Huxley-Parlour gallery, London, until Nov. 30.
  • Suzanne Sease features the personal project of Frank Ockenfels 3. "I have been lucky enough to find subjects who embrace collaboration and are open to experimenting with light, optics and texture," he says. "My ongoing collaboration with photographer & artist Shelbie Dimond continues to fuel this exploration."
  • ACDSee for Mac 11 has been released. The introductory $$54.95 price (regularly $99.99) ends Nov. 27 at noon Pacific Time.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
