We looked west this morning, away from the sunrise, as our coffee was brewing, to see the Pacific Ocean stretching out calmly before us. It was a magnificent sight.

The Pacific. Nikon D300 with 18-200mm Nikkor at 135mm, f5.6, 1/250 second and ISO 200. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

We let the coffee cool as we raced down the stairs to grab the Nikon D300, which is still not obsolete, and take a couple of shots. We were surprised we had to manually focus the 18-200mm Nikkor but we knew how to do that.

We had a sharp horizon at f5.6 but the utility lines were a bit blurred. Still, we recognized them as utility lines and expected the new Remove tool in Photoshop that we raved about would make short work of them.

Nope. The blur evaded correction. So we did it the old fashioned way with the Healing Brush.

Unpreturbed, of course. Because through it all we were looking at the Pacific Ocean.
