In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week in pictures, Reuters' week, Susan Berger, Keerthana Kunnath, Jan Schölzel, live co-editing and the EU's Article 17.

  • The Associated Press showcases its Week in Pictures curated by photo editor Patrick Sison.
  • And Reuters adds 20 of its Pictures of the Week from around the globe.
  • The Morning News interviews Susan Berger about her project Martin Luther King Dr, which involved a road trip to photograph streets named in honor of Dr. King. It will be on exhibit at the Diane Klidd Gallery in Tiffin, Ohio (opening Jan. 18), Santa Monica's DNJ Gallery (opening Feb. 27) and the University of Arizona Museum of Art (opening July 12).
  • Grace Ebert features Keerthana Kunnath's images of Female Bodybuilders Defying Beauty Ideals. The series, titled Not What You Saw, documents a growing community of female bodybuilders in Kerala on India's tropical Malabar Coast.
  • Grace Holliday presents Langkawi, Jan Schölzel's best phone shot, taken with an iPhone SE. "With a simple iPhone photo app, you can't set aperture, ISO or shutter speed, so finding great colors and a good perspective, as well as beautiful structures and nice compositions, is key," he says.
  • Julieanne Kost demonstrates Live Co-Editing in Photoshop Beta:

  • In Article 17: Closing the Value Gap -- Where Are We Now?, Paul Melcher writes, "What is clear is that the relationship between online platforms, rights holders and users has fundamentally changed." With Article 17, the European parliament shifted the liability for copyright infringement from users to online platforms.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
