Leica has announced a new silver version of its Summilux-M 50mm f1.4, originally launched in 1959 as the first "maximum light" Summilux lens. This is only the second version of the 50mm Summilux.

It features seven lens elements in five groups as well as the 12-blade aperture diaphragm of its predecessor.
