All our TVs (we have two flat screen LCD TVs) are older than our cameras. The remotes are balky but the pictures are still clear. And there's no way we'd ever be able to connect our peripherals to a modern, port-challenged one.

End of the Show. iPhone 15 Pro Max back triple camera at 6.8mm, f1.8, 1/3610 seconds and ISO 64. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

We have thought of getting a new TV but ports are only part of the problem. We observe a rule of thumb about TV screen size. We prefer a screen small enough so the talking heads are never larger than life size. And these days it's hard to find a 28- or 32-inch screen.

Over the years, this policy has proven its intelligence over and over. No Super Bowl has appeared larger than any other game in the season. No weather pattern more threatening than anything else we've been through. No president larger than life. You get the idea.

So when we came across this large (to our mind) TV, we didn't shed a tear (or call 911). In fact, we walked around it, only considering a photo when we had passed by. You do see TVs on the sidewalk in the city, mostly for garbage pickup, but you don't see them in quite so revealing a pose.

It's instructive to see how thin the screen is. And what little electronics there are inside. And how frail the little feet are, especially compared to the monolithic stands on our old sets.

So we took the shot. A still shot, video being somehow inappropriate.
