In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at International Women's Day, Florian Schulz, making a print a day, swings and misses and more interesting things.
- Reuters presents 30 Scenes From International Women's Day from around the world.
- Heidi Volpe interviews Florian Schulz on Photography's Role in Shaping Public Awareness and Influencing Policy. "The power of collaboration, as seen in campaigns like Alaska Needs You, demonstrates that when individuals and organizations unite, we can inspire meaningful change and safeguard the future of our wild places," he says.
- Kevin Raber is Making a Print a Day for the Whole Year. "I realized that I needed to use my passion for printing to create my legacy of images," he writes. "Thus, I decided to make a print every day this year."
- In Swings and Misses, Staring at Pitches, Lack of Team Play, Thom Hogan uses recent Nikon announcements to point out "a cultural problem, not a corporate one." The same issues can be found at Canon, Fujifilm, OMDS, Panasonic and Sony, he notes.
- Hogan also posts his 27th Interesting Things Written on the Internet. This one covers Zeiss, third-party lens licenses and the Olympus Pen series.
