Our neurologist has been sending us to the Imaging Lab for CT scans of our brain every six weeks (or so) to monitor the brain bleed we mentioned Aug. 22 last year.

We got a little frustrated trying to imagine what the technician was reporting and what the neurologist was describing so we asked how we could get an image of the CT scan when we had the latest one taken last week.

Turns out you have to cross the street from the hospital into some other building and go downstairs to the imaging library where they'll make a CD for you.

So we did.

The reception room was dark, which is why we walked right by it the first time. Apparently they don't get much business because they have the room light on a motion detector.

Reception Room. With the lights on.

The clerk, though, was exceptionally helpful, gathering all the scans from August to the one we had just taken. And the CD was readable on macOS or Windows with an app that ran on either platform to read the images.

This is a screen shot of the latest image. The bleed is at the top of the brain.

We can't tell much of a difference from one scan to another but apparently the technicians can. They reported the December image showed a 28mm bleed which has been reduced to 8mm in March.

The neurologist, whose email we read as soon as we got home, liked that, too. He set up another scan for six months instead of six weeks.

We should live so long.
