In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week, Reuters' week, Mahé Elipe and Ariana Drehsler.
- The Associated Press showcases its global Week in Pictures curated by photo editor Eloy Martin.
- Reuters shares 20 of its Pictures of the Week as well.
- Photographer Mahé Elipe discusses her project Sembrando Luchas (Sowing the Struggle), which highlights the lives and challenges of women. She has been taking pictures of women across Mexico since 2018 for the project.
- In the LA Fires, a Photographer Finds a Moment of Stillness (gift link) tells how a photo by Ariana Drehsler ended up on the New York Times front page. "My goal has always been for viewers to see an image of mine and feel the same emotions I did when I photographed it," she writes. "In this case, those emotions included profound sadness, shock and hope — hope that one day, homeowners affected by the fires might rebuild and move forward with their lives."
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
