Saturday matinees long ago let us escape from the ordinary world to the island of the Swiss Family Robinson or the mutinous decks of the Bounty. Why not, we thought, escape the usual fare here with Saturday matinees of our favorite photography films?
So we're pleased to present the 595th in our series of Saturday matinees today: Behind-the-Scenes: Photoshoots for Workday Sports.
In this 3:29 video, Joseph Seif takes us behind the scenes of two photoshoots with golfers modeling Workday Sports clothing. One of the shoots is in Jupiter, Fla., and the other is in Palo Alto, Calif.
And the models? Well, you may recognize them as Rory McIlroy, Michelle Wie West, Brandt Snedeker and Matt Fitzpatrick. And if you don't, there are large hints starting each session to help you out (although Michelle should be obvious).
Not only is this a nicely produced clip, but we found it endless fun to stop the video to look over the gear and just how Seif set up the shoots.
There are studio shots of the golfers as well as action shots on the course. The studio shots were tethered. The action shots, some of which were tethered to a system set up in a popup tent, required a rolling cart to get the gear around.
You'll also catch a shot of the medium format Hasselblad and Leica cameras he used with Profoto triggers.
But there we go spoiling the fun.
