In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Myanmar quake, Reuters' week in pictures, wildlife and Kevin Raber.

  • In Powerful Earthquake Strikes Southeast Asia, Reuters documents the 7.7 magnitude quake in Myanmar tat "rocked Southeast Asia, killing several people and causing extensive damage, with rescuers in Bangkok searching for people in the rubble of a collapsed building."
  • The Associated Press showcases its Week in Pictures: Global curated by photo editor Eloy Martin.
  • Joanna Ruck curates the Week in Wildlife from around the world.
  • "Following a series of strokes over the past 48 hours, Kevin has passed away in Indianapolis," Chris Sanderson writes at PhotoPXL. "I will create a 'virtual' Book of Remembrance on the PhotoPXL forum for friends and readers to share their memories of Kevin." And in Remembering Kevin Raber: A Luminous Legacy, Jon Swindall, who followed him at Luminous Landscape, reflects on his life. We often pointed you to Raber's Photo Chats and other articles (including the recent project to print a photo a day) and will miss his enthusiasm for the things we love, too. Or as Andrew Molitor put it, Aww Man, Kevin Raber Died.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
