The W. Eugene Smith Fund has announced it will honor its 2024 grant recipients during a live awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 8, at 10 a.m. EDT.

Since 1979, the W. Eugene Smith Fund has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to documentary photographers around the world who share their visual stories through their photographs and written essays. This year, the grants collectively received more than 725 entries from 85 countries, the most since the grant's inception. This year alone, the Smith Fund will present $72,500 in grants, the most in any grant cycle in 45 years.

The W. Eugene Smith Fund has announced it will honor its 2024 grant recipients during a live awards ceremony set for Tuesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. EDT. The awards ceremony will be streamed live via Zoom and will include presentations by 2024 grant recipients and finalists in the Smith Grant, Student Grant and Howard Chapnick Grant categories.

Attendance is free and open to everyone.
