Sorry my report today is a bit late. I was holding it hoping I'd hear from the surgeon. Things must be getting pretty routine.
I hope I answered your questions while waiting for her. Let me know if not.
Joyce was back from her add-on surgery to replace the large sponge in her thigh by the time I called her this morning just after eleven. But she was still groggy.
She's probably sleeping like a baby in there.
So I gave her all the bad news at once.
She's about had it with all the pills, she said. They just hand them to her without explaining what they're for. Half of them are to resolve issues with the other half.
She found a way to get back at them though. She vomited them up this morning.
They switched the IV to her other arm today, too. She thinks she's taking the antibiotics orally so we're not sure what the IV is for. Hydration perhaps.
This is the sort of thing that would be easy to find out about if I was able to visit. But it's not the kind of thing I would bother Dr. Tong about.
Although, I'm working on a list that includes the long-term effects of the anesthesia and the sleep apnea discussed before she was admitted.
She's probably sleeping like a baby in there. Because, considering the concert she can put on, they would have sent her home by now.
