Lidocaine for the Nation

2 November 2020

Joyce forgot to take Oxycodone this morning before her dressing change. Peeling the drape off her skin (like pulling a bandage off skin with hair) is painful. And pulling the old foam off the wound tears new growth.

So Salwa offered to put Lidocaine on the wound and Joyce liked that idea. She got a little relief from the pain after enduring the drape and foam removal.

Seems like everyone is a little on edge about the election tomorrow. And with the mix of ballot types (mail-in, in-person, early even), just a few states expect a full report on Tuesday night and many states aren't promising a fairly full count before noon on Wednesday. There are even quite a few states that expect to take longer than that, as late as Friday.

Seems like the whole nation could use some Lidocaine to numb the pain.

I did leave Nick the Store Manager a message thanking him for finally bringing our dryer adventure to an end yesterday. And I praised the installers for getting the washer on the left side of the dryer so the doors open away from each other.

Alana sent Joyce another lovely card and her sister Alice and husband Dan are on their way over for a short visit.

But I wanted to let you know I added a rough word count to the search tool on the home page. It's reported at the bottom of the report but I thought you'd like to know how many words you've read if you've been following along since July 29.

Just over 40,000, including this piece. That's the length of a painfully short novel.
