Late this afternoon Joyce got a call from Kaiser to set up an appointment tomorrow morning for a Covid-19 test. You still need a clean test within four days of surgery to clear you for hospital admittance. This will do that.
But at the same time, she was told this will be a series of three surgeries scheduled for Friday the fifth, Monday the eighth and Friday the twelfth. That was a surprise.
A surprise that overwhelmed her, frankly.
We don't know what the three surgeries are for, although we know Dr. Tong wants to move new tissue into the wound to speed things up. And we aren't sure if Joyce will have to remain in the hospital for all three but we expect so.
We expect to talk to Dr. Tong before Friday to clarify everything.
