I watched the non-descript Byram delivery truck decorated with graffiti on the side go right by the house this afternoon. We were expecting the monthly delivery of 120 Mediplex pads delayed because Byram said the order had expired.
Joyce called Byram this evening to see if the shipment would arrive tomorrow. She was told it would not. Byram never received authorization from Dr. Tong's office so only the "complementary" 10 Mediplex pads we received yesterday have been shipped.
Those 10 pads run out tomorrow night. We use four a day.
That didn't bother the customer service rep. Nor did she have a solution.
Cat the Physician's Assistant had emailed Joyce on Tuesday confirming she had authorized the Mediplex shipment.
So 1) Cat did authorize the order but 2) Byram has no record of the authorization and 3) we're stuck with no Mediplex like it doesn't matter.
What a system.
I emailed Dr. Tong this evening to ask her to resolve the problem in the morning so that Byram delivers the Mediplex tomorrow afternoon. They do make same day deliveries from the local warehouse, I happen to know. They just need someone other than Joyce to tell them to do it, apparently.
A few minutes after sending the email, I got an out-of-office reply.
But we'll see Dr. Tong tomorrow. Or one of her assistants. They don't have any Mediplex (we bring our own to them so they can close the wound). But they'll have to think of something.
No point going home if we can't do a dressing change there.
