Last night, out of the blue, Salwa the LVN texted us to ask how things were going. She was on the case a very long time and can "literally see the wound in my head without looking at photos to this day," she wrote. I sent her the Google album link on this home page and she took a look.
"It looks like the size is a lot smaller. Good news for sure as this has been a long process for you both," she wrote.
And today we're going to make it especially taxing by going to both St. Francis in the morning and Kaiser Hospital in the afternoon. She'll get her usual hyperbaric oxygen treatment at St. Francis and then a surgical debridement with Dr. Tong sometime about 2:30 p.m. (and hopefully not 1 a.m. again).
I'll stay with her for a while at Kaiser but I'll have to leave before she goes to surgery to take care of things at my mother's. It's Wednesday, after all. And, as my father used to say, everything happens on Wednesday.
