After the inside of my skull was imaged this morning, I stopped by the plastic surgery clinic to see if Joyce's fungal culture results had come in. Dr. Tong had said they could be in yesterday or today. But they don't show up on Joyce's test results page.
Nate was at the desk and helpful as usual. He looked it up and showed me it was still "in process."
I walked up the hill to Trader Joe's to buy a bag of things I was low on. That should get me to next week easily.
Then I took the 43 home as it began to rain and a child on the bus who had been signing about the wheels on the bus started singing, "The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish."

BY THE TIME I got home, Dr. Sedrak, the neurologist in Redwood City, had taken a look at my CT scan and sent me the radiology report:
Slight decreased size of right holohemispheric mixed density septated subdural hematoma. Maximum dimension is 2.2cm, previously 2.5cm. Similar mass effect on the underlying sulci. 4mm right-to-left midline shift at level of third ventricle, unchanged. There remains some high density in the anterior aspect the collection which may represent an acute on chronic component.
"Let's plan on a follow-up in 6 weeks," he wrote.
So going in the right direction but not there yet. Which my phone already knew:
Low Walking Steadiness
Your Walking Steadiness is low and you may have an increased risk of falling in the next 12 months.A helpful graph shows I've been in the OK range until I started walking at night in October, which I do find difficult because of my double vision. Steadiness deteriorated markedly in August when I had the concussion, rose in September and fell out of the OK range into the Low range in October.

SO NEITHER Joyce nor I know if we're coming or going. But under the circumstances it's going to take both of us longer to get anywhere.
