The staff has left the Valentine's Day decorations up in the hallway by the main desk. So I took a photo of Joyce as we sat by the fish tank (where we always try to find the little one that is the same color as the rocks) with the hearts dangling behind her.

Masks are mandatory at Golden Heights right now. Since November in fact. It's precautionary, I think, rather than in response to some outbreak.
Speaking of precautions, I mentioned the green discharge I saw when Eric the RN did the wound dressing change the other day. I mentioned it to Jennifer the RN at the Kaiser Wound Care Clinic when I emailed her a photo of the wound I took that day.
She said it was from the pseudomonas, a superficial infection common in open wounds and not worth treating with antibiotics because debridements greatly reduce it. And we have as debridement scheduled with her next Tuesday.
I'd never seen a green discharge when we were doing the dressing changes at home, though. She was infection free then.
It remains a puzzle how we're going to get her to Jennifer's exam room Tuesday. We could use St. Mark's transport service for $230 but Loren the Social Worker mentioned she knew someone who could do it for less. I haven't heard from her since, though. So I reminded her late Friday after Julian, who handles transport for the nursing home, asked if he should set something up with St. Mark's.
One way or another, she'll get there.
