Epson Announces Perfection V39

Epson has announced its $100 Epson Perfection V39 featuring 4800 dpi optical resolution, no warm-up time and buttons to scan directly to email and PDFs. Like the recently announced $80 Perfection V19, the 39 is USB powered and sits on a kickstand to take up less desk space.
In fact, apart from the higher price by $30 and two additional bundled applications (one of which is Windows-only), we're unable to discern a significant difference between the new V39 and the V19.
We asked Epson to distinguish between the two models. They said, "The V19 comes with Epson Scan with Easy Photo Fix technology and Epson Easy Photo Scan. The V39 adds on ArcSoft Scan-n-Stitch Deluxe (Windows only), Document Capture Pro and Optical Character Recognition." The V39 is also more widely available, including at office supply stores, Epson said.
