The convergence of St. Paddy's Day on a Sunday would seem to be like a total eclipse. Of one or the other. It's hard to countenance both at once.
The Green. Well, the village green, admittedly, but it's the thought that counts.
But, thinking about it this morning, that choice between party and prayer seems as much an antidote, for one or the other, as an eclipse.
We stopped thinking about it immediately, though.
Sunday is our holiday. The one thing Protestants and Catholics can certainly agree on. And in that we join them, religiously.
We turned our attention to the coffee. It was faithfully brewing as it does every morning -- even if, in the half-light of morning, it might apear to be a bit green.
