In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at seven legends, Austin, Eric Fischer and free Adobe actions, plug-ins and presets.

  • Chris Gampat highlights Seven Legendary Black Photographers with video presentations. The list includes Coreen Simpson, Lorna Simpson, Ernest Withers, Eli Reed, Deborah Willis, Roy DeCarava and John W. Mosley.
  • Kirk Tuck presents a few images of A Long, Cold Day in Austin. And it could get colder. Without power. "Sitting in running cars to charge cellphones has now become an Austin thing," he writes.
  • Heidi Volpe interviews Eric Fischer about his wildlife photography. "When it comes to capturing certain photos, the normal time of everyday life essentially comes to a halt," he says. "I'll spend countless hours waiting in the field in order to capture the photo I've imagined."
  • Adobe is offering a Glitch Portrait Template from Luis Reyes, an updated Watercolor Artist Action Set by Nuwan Panditha and Jessy J's favorite Lightroom presets for color grading Black women. All free downloads.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look five years back. And please support our efforts...
