In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at some originals, masking tips, Alice Camera AI, and Perseverance's cameras.

The company promises AI techniques that can make local adjustments in real time to captured images that follow the company's four guidelines "to be natural, conservative, expressive and controllable."
- Adam Rogers explains how Perseverance's Eyes See a Different Mars. The rover has 25 cameras on board if you count the two on its drone. "If we want to reproduce what Mars would look like to a human eye, we should be simulating Earth illumination conditions onto those Martian landscapes," said Melissa Rice, a planetary scientist on the team.
