Easter?

Who knew today was Easter? Well, lots of people. Even we knew. But we forgot overnight. And then we realized why.
We're just not, as a species, used to happy surprises. We are always surprised by the onslaught of winter but can't wait for spring to show up. We're always looking for a break, not being broken.
Which is what makes today special for us, this year anyway.
It's been a lousy year, frankly. All the surprises have been bad news. Not unexpected but what bad news arrives conveniently?
So we'll take a day that celebrates a happy surprise. Some good news.
