In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week in pictures, Mohammad Nazari, Jamie Beck camera straps, Leica Lux Pro and handholding a camera.

  • The Associated Press showcases its Week in Pictures: Global curated by AP photo editor Eloy Martin in Madrid.
  • Look, shot on an iPhone 6s, is Iranian photographer Mohammad Nazari's best phone picture. "The glass of the bus station separated these two young girls -- one with her hand outstretched and placed on the glass, the other turning to look at her," he says. "The presence of a girl without a hijab in a crowd at an ancient religious ceremony created an interesting contrast. The feeling I get from this photo is very strange."
  • Feroz Khan reviews the $135 Jamie Beck Camera Strap. The thin, leather straps are hand-made in France. Options include the light brown Provence and black Parisian versions. "They both come with optional leather bumpers that prevent the metal loops from rubbing against your camera," he writes.
  • In You May Pay Every Month Now, Mike Johnston takes on the Leica Lux Pro iPhone app, available in Europe. The Pro version is subscription-based but there's a free version that emulates the Leica Summilux-M 28 mm f/1.4 ASPH. with five Leica Looks.
  • In How to Handhold Your Camera, Kevin Ames provides three tips to improve stability.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
