In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Reuters, Hugh Holland, Kenya, Guittard Chocolate and Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall.

  • Reuters showcases 24 Pictures of the Day.
  • Mee-Lai Stone features a few of Hugh Holland's images of California Skateboarders. Holland passed away this month.
  • Suzanne Sease highlight Patrick Fraser's photographs of Kenya. "My friend Phoebe called me and said would I like to come and take pictures in Kenya," he says. "As I had never explored Kenya I jumped on a plane to Nairobi."
  • Lance Yamamoto documents Guittard Chocolate in Burlingame, Calif., which has been around since 1868. "Today, the company makes more than 70 types of products that are found at grocery stores and sold to professional bakers and top Bay Area restaurants like Chez Panisse, Nightbird and Flour + Water. That doesn't even include the products Guittard develops for companies like See's Candies," writes Susana Guerrero.
  • Symphony by Angel Mayorga is a photo of the ceiling of Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, one of Mission Local's "daily snaps from our readers."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
