In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at pictures of the month, Tracy Barbutes, Pradiptamoy Paul and big normals.
- Reuters shares 50 Pictures of the Month for February. For a short month, it was a long time.
- Heidi Volpe interviews Tracy Barbutes, an independent photojournalist, writer, wildfire photographer based near Yosemite. Volpe asks her about covering the 2013 Rim Fire at Yosemite and her image of an upside down American Flag hanging fro El Capitan that documents a protest over the federal job cuts.
- Grace Holliday features Fly High, Pradiptamoy Paul's best phone picture which captures a group of children in a moment of joy in black-and-white.
- In Matter of Taste (In Lenses), Mike Johnston reflects on the huge size and heavy weight of an Otus normal lens. He once lifted an Otus 55mm in person and is still recovering.
